We organize year-round around local issues, civic engagement, leadership development, and practical local action. People Pfirst treats them accordingly. We advocate for issues and candidates that align with our values. Anyone who believes in local-first, transparent politics is welcome to join us. People Pfirst works in three lanes: civic education and issue work, leadership development, and voter registration and turnout. The work runs year-round, but we keep the list of active efforts short so people can actually follow along and help carry things across the line. If you want the deeper story, start with [About People Pfirst](https://peoplepfirst.org/about/), then look at [membership](https://peoplepfirst.org/membership/), [events](https://peoplepfirst.org/events/), or [Contact / Stay Informed](https://peoplepfirst.org/contact/) to choose your next step. 01 — Stand for Something ### Issue campaigns and civic education We run focused, time-bound campaigns on local issues that affect daily life: utility affordability, housing costs, school funding, and transparent government. We publish clear goals and report on results. 02 — Step Up for Something ### Leadership development and candidate support We recruit and train leaders for elected and appointed roles: city council, school board, planning commissions, MUD boards, county bodies. We support aligned candidates with data, field capacity, and coalition coordination. We have partnerships with other political organizations and parties, too. 03 — Show Up for Something ### Voter registration and turnout We register voters, run get-out-the-vote operations, and make sure more Pflugerville residents show up when it counts. Turnout work doesn't stop after November; we maintain relationships with new voters year-round. What we believe ## Pflugerville for the people who live and work here Affordability ### Costs that don't swallow your budget Housing, utilities, and everyday expenses should leave room for people to actually build a life here. That means local government making decisions with affordability as a constraint, not an afterthought. Accountability ### Open decisions, not closed rooms We push back against closed-door decision-making, conflicts of interest, and the influence of money in local politics. Transparent governance is how trust gets built. This is also how we run our organization. Participation ### Power distributed, not concentrated Local power works best when more people have it. We work to expand the universe of engaged voters, volunteers, and leaders, including communities that have historically been priced out of local influence.
