Get Involved

# Choose how you want to participate

You do not have to become a formal member before showing up. Start with updates, an event, a skill you can offer, or a membership path when you are ready.

Ways to participate

## Choose your path

Pick the path that matches what you want to do next. Some people start by attending one event. Others want updates, membership, or a way to offer specific skills.

Attend something

### I want to show up

Start with an upcoming People Pfirst event or local civic calendar item. Events are the easiest way to meet people and understand the work.

Stay informed

### I want updates

Get low-volume updates about events, civic opportunities, and ways to participate without becoming a member first.

Become a member

### I want to join

Choose Voting, Associate, or Advocate Membership depending on residency, dues, and how formally you want to participate.

Offer skills

### I have skills or time to offer

Tell us what you can help with, from communications and data to events, voter registration, design, logistics, and outreach.

Local issues

### I care about local civic work

Follow city meetings, board schedules, deadlines, and local events as the civic calendar fills in.

## Become a member

Membership is the formal path for people who want a defined role in the organization. [Voting Members](https://peoplepfirst.org/join/) can vote on endorsements and organizational decisions. [Associate Members](https://peoplepfirst.org/join/) participate as dues-paying supporters. [Advocate Members](https://peoplepfirst.org/join/#advocate-member) stay connected without dues or voting rights.
